For our first date (April 4!), Brad and I saw "A Midsummer Night's Dream." at the Arden Theatre in Old City. We'd been friends for about a year already, but I remember being very nervous. And I was so impressed with Brad's restaurant choice — the first restuarant I'd ever been to that was entirely vegetarian (sadly, Cherry Street Vegetarian has closed). Well, I just received a postcard for the Arden Children's Theatre production of "A Year with Frog and Toad." Not quite "A Midsummer Night's Dream," but some of you in town with children might be interested in checking it out. It's a quick cab ride from the hotel and a few blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Peformances begin at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Additional times and ticket information are listed on the website. If you're interested in recreating our vegetarian Chinese dinner, check out Su Xing House at 1508 Sansom Street. There's also a couple of great vegetarian places in Chinatown that I'd be happy to give you more info about. |
